Horrible Noise!

Featured Replies

hello all....I have a horrible noise coming from the rear of my car, it is a creaking/screeching/scratching type noise..I have ruled out something stuck in the discs and cant see anything obvious (have not had car on ramps to really get involved) I am hoping someone can shed some light or has had experience of this before? I am guessing spring related?

thanks

Check out the dust shield for the brake discs, I experienced the same noise last summer and they were the culprits

Sounds like the devil scraping his claws down sheet metal?

Stone in the rear disk guard between it and the disk. Makes an unbelievable noise.

Either give the car a bit of welly in reverse or get a screwdriver an flick out he offending stone.

Cheers guys....I have tried the reversing trick....have not heard the noise again but will see what happens tomorrow :)

Russler, let me know if it has solved the issue!

the noise is back! it is intermittent and seems to happen only when the car is cold....I am convinced it is spring related..
