Skoda Octy 2007 2.0 FSI CHAIN OR CAMBELT? SOME CONFUSION

Featured Replies

Hi Guys Does the top of the range Octy 2007 KL&L have a cambelt or chain? read this from what car not sure if they are right

"All engines, apart from the 1.6 and 2.0 FSI, need their cambelts changed once every 60,000 miles or four years. You need to make sure this has been carried out; the 1.4-litre petrol unit has a history of cambelt failures, which can lead to a wrecked engine. Get the cambelt inspected if you’re in any doubt."

What are your thoughts on this guys?

Jon

Hi gadgetman is that combined average,or extra urban ?

We used to get 34.

Double check your fuel filler, it will prob be 98 Ron, i recommend you keep to that as its better fuel economy due to variable valve timing and fuel stratification won't start etc.

on cruising on the motorway i can get 38MPG at 75ish.. if i really push for efficiency I've got 42 but that was a lot of careful fuel efficient driving!

Hi gadgetman is that combined average,or extra urban ?

i

Extra urban on normal unleaded.
