Lowering Options

Featured Replies

So I have spent most of the morning so far having a search and seeing people opinions and pics but just after a bit more info really.  I want to lower my car however do not want coilovers as I will not be going that low.  I have narrowed it down to the following:

Is there any advantage to getting the kit rather than just the springs?  My car is fairly low miles and everything seems in order when having it up on the ramp.

Any other options other than those mentioned above?

Hi J, I have a mk2 fabia and i fitted H+R 40mm lowering springs that i bought from DPM and find them great so that may be another option.

If you have a vRS the bottom ones, wont have the correct spring rate i dont think. I've recently went and got AP Shocks and Springs because of the amount of miles I do and wanted to keep the comfort but also have the enhanced performance.

Talking to people around the forum AP are really good kits and anyone who has them on have always enjoyed them so personally, I'd go for them simply for VFM.

However if you want a better setup i'd go for the eibach springs and some bilstein dampers but obviously depends on your budget!

Budget was circa £200 ish just want to lose the arch gap a bit and any increased handling is always a bonus.  I had eibachs on a clio cup once and that was good but I do think the AP kit seems very good vfm.

For half your budget I can sell you some Eibach pro springs that have done 5k max in great condition. Haven't got shocks though, I ran them on standard shocks and they dropped somewhere between 30-40mm and the ride was ace!! Just wanted to go lower so bought coilies

IMO i wouldnt buy lowering springs without new shocks, but thats just by 2 pence worth

Pros and cons on both?

I have the kw fixed shocks and springs kit, which I've had for a couple of years now. Really good kit without massive lows

Right now decided on the AP shocks and springs kit however people have suggested replacing the top mounts and rear cupra bushes.

Does anyone have the part numbers to order these bits?

Anything else needed to fit this kit?

Ebay items

300604387046 for the top mounts

130782421919 for the bushes

Or awsome gti do the cupra bushes aswell. Also worth changing the rear bump stops but im not sure which ones are the best

I have the Eibach springs on standard dampers.

I'll be getting Bilstein's to match in a few months.
