Paint flaking on rear bumper.. warranty?

Featured Replies

My Octavia is a 2010 36k miles. I am the second owner has anyone had this before?

Car is in for service tommorow so will ask the 'is it warranty' question.

Pic it's pealing on the offside rear bumper lower corner behind the wheel.

My 2010 had a few small flakes coming off on the underneath of the front bumper and next to the number plate but nothing as significant as on your rear bumper. They've never got any worse and I've not pursued the matter.

Sarge.

you might be lucky but the car only has a 3 year paint warranty.

If you read the thread about the spoiler peeling you will see that skoda are very picky on who they help out. You need 100% fssh and that includes the previous owner who you obviously had no say on what they did with the car.

Contact skoda uk and see what they say :)

I would have thought with no rear flaps etc that would just be passed off as stone chips and or pressure washers. Worth a try though, you've got to be in it to win it.

If your the 2nd owner then there is a chance that the car has had the bumper painted whilst in the 1st owner had it & the repair may not be the best & is now flaking. Hopefully you get it rectified f.o.c by skoda.

My wifes car has a few large flakes coming off the top forward corners of the rear valance just below the metal panel. Her car is a 2nd owner and I suspect it had rear damage, I cannot get the black plastic boot liner to stay in position under the boot catch. Where the paint has flaked the valance is very smooth and there does not seem to be any primer/undercoat
