Well after promising to Damo and Nic (and probably many others) that id look after the CitiGo and keep it clean. - After several attempts, thwarted by bad weather, the plans were set into motion today with a trip up to see ChrisRs. 

 

The main reason for this was i was aware my car had precisely zero paint protection on it when i collected from the dealer as well as several marks where it had been badly valeted before collection..

 

What was suppost to be just a simple wash and protection detail turned out to be quite a mare as there was a staggering amount of contamination on the paint and glasswork after just two months in the harsh Manchester winter, which required much more of a hands on approach than originally envisaged.

 

Anyway several hours later and with more different products being used than i can remember the names of (Inc some Hellfire(!) sealent and Sonus spray stuff) and a pet-dryer lol:

 

The car looks (and feels) bloomin fantastic!.

 

Despite being a flat-red paint i am genuinely amazed at how much the colour has really brightened up and brought out a shine i didnt know a flat paint could have!

Of course now that the car is all nice and shiny - I shall be ensuring it stays that way!

Really enjoyed doing it Col....A very nice little car

However, I was amazed at how unfinished the PDI work was...and the amount of contamination in the paintwork

What was used?

1. Snow Foam and TBM with Fairly liquid and Farecla Detox Shampoo via a Dooka Wash Mitt

2. Car rinsed and dried

3. Wheels Cleaned with IronX type cleaner and applied to rear of the car

4. Car snow foamed again and re-dried

5. Tar spots and Car Transit tape glue removed with AG Intensive Tar remover...Sticker from rear window removed with Wife's Hair drier (Shushhh)

6. Car polished/paint work cleansed with Gtechnik P1 polish via a 3M Finishing Pad with Rotary and DA

7. IPA wipe down to remove any oils prior to sealing

8. Car applied with Autobrite Hellshine Abyss Sealer and finished with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer

9. Wheels sealed with Ixtar G3 Ceramic Sealer and tyres dressed with Meguiars Endurance Tyre dressing

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Ha ha.....the seeds have been sown. The spring detail would seem an ideal oportunity.... wonder if SWMBO would miss me if I sneak out early on morning!

Thanks Dinski nice to be able to clean the car with the rubbish weather, it's been a Few Weeks since she was Last cleaned. Unfortunatley Not 10 minutes later it poured down for an Hour Or so, got Some nice beading going on
