Hi the rear wiper motor on my 2000 my Fabia (W reg) just has died so I need to replace it.

The part no on the existing/offending unit is

1J6955711C. I have seen on here someone saying that this item has been superceded to a later motor with the same no except the last letter is G.

What I am wondering is, what is the difference between the two & can I fit a 'G' to my model or are any additional parts needed. I was going to go for an aftermarket one from someone like Bosch but now I am not sure if they are a straight swap.

Any info from you knowledgeable Briskodians would be greatly received

As long as number same the letter merely tells you how old it is. A good used one should be fine.

Aha, great stuff, thanks for the info. Now all I have to do is buy one & wait for the rain to stop

( slightly ironic) before I can fit it.
