What bulb? and.... (i found a leak...)

Featured Replies

Hello,

last weekend i treated the octy to a proper clean out, stripped the centre console out, and cleaned out all underneath it.

in the process i discovered the bulb for the ashtray broken in its holder... didnt even know there was meant to be a bulb down there as its been like that since i bought it 2 yrs ago!

question is, hat size bulb does it take, as the 5w5 is too big, and the 1.2w like in the heater is too small?

and.... water world...

how does the water get in through the boot hinges? ie where should i be looking to seal?

i thought the water behind the boot trim was coming from the washer motor/ pipe,

but everything's dry around there, seems to be running down the inside of the hatch frame,

reckon its the hinges as the inside of the boot seal is dry too.

id done so well!! 4 months of leak posts and i was still dry, until last week..

Car got a sunroof?

a what now?? no, aint got glass in my roof.

If i did have a sunroof, id know already where to go, its just with boot hinges, not too sure....

Just my theory on leaks, if you had a sunroof and its drains were blocked the water would probably run thru the roof skin and leak out somewhere at the rear but you dont have a sunroof lol

that ashtray bulb is a special type with plastic socket and can be bought only fron dealeship or special stores,is not universat

Is based to a T5 bulb but casted in a special 2 pin socket
