Hissing Noise

Featured Replies

Hello, Ok so here is a random question....my vrs has been stutrery/turbo comes in late and goes into limp mode...its gone in into limp mode twice in 4 weeks. So I checked the actuator and swirl flap and its holding vacum and its gone really heavy on diesel. So I have it booked in to the main dealers but I am after noticing that when its idling and you rev it up to about 3k and release the accelerator on the right hand side of the engine you can hear air being released but I can see whrre ita coming from.......is this normal????? Because I assume this is where I am loosing boost.

You will get a whoosh noise which is a valve releasing any back pressure that may be created by the turbo shutting down as you come off the gas.

Your issues sound a bit like a coked up turbo (Search Mr Muscle) or gunk end up EGR.
