imobiliser fault

Featured Replies

Hi I've replaced the ignition module and transponder box/ring because I had no key I now have a working key the engine has fired up. Sounds good. But I think it's the imobiliser because it strikes up but then dies off. If I then turn the ignition back but not off then try to start again it won't fire up. And if I turn the ignition fully off then start it will repeat the first process. Where do I go from here to get her started. Any advice thanks.

You need somebody with vcds to match the immobiliser unit to the engine ecu, it's a simple procedure,

Immo 17, adaption 10, channel 0, read then write, then the next time the ignition it turned on it will pair the immo unit and ecu together.

So I find some1 with a diagnostics and they can sort it.

I think that you need to erase the learned values in the engine ECU, which is 01 - engine, 10 - adaptation and then channel 00.

it's worth doing it at the same time certainly, but it isn't strictly necessary.

certain other diagnostic functions require there to be no fault codes in memory, or that the learned vaules are erased first, but immo adaptions do not.

effectively the 'code' of the ecu never changes in terms of immobiliser programming is concerned, it is the immobiliser unit which gets changed to match the ecu, this is to prevent there being instances of more than one ecu being coded to it at once.

I understand that. I've been given some advice to say that the imobiliser Can be bypassed by bridging two wires coming into the transponder any1 shed any further light on this. I think I've found a chap with the right vcds software which would resolve the issue. But until I can get the truck to him. I'm willing to attempt a bypass. Cheers.

How do I aquire the immo pin.

When I put a used immobiliser box in a Felicia a while back, I followed this procedure:

The problem that you'll have is that you most likely haven't got the login code for your immobiliser.

Yes you are quite right, it's not group 17, that instruments... It is indeed group 25.... You don't need the pin code unless you are matching new keys or swapping keys, if it's just matching an ecu to the immo unit then it's not needed.
