Hi all, has anyone got and fitted some of these dsg paddle extensions fitted? If so what are your thoughts on them and what ones did you buy? If it wasn't for the weird shape on the paddle I would machine up some billet aluminium beauts at work but far to busy at the moment to be bothering with the time required to make a pair.   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steering-Wheel-DSG-Direct-Shift-Gear-Paddle-Extension-Switch-4-VW-Golf-Jetta-/200957381059?pt=UK_Other_Clothing_Protection&var=&hash=item2ec9fe49c3

I find when using manual mode it is easy to miss the paddles on the back of the wheel as they are rather small and tucked away, especially when in an out of tight corners where your arms cross over and you take one hand off to get the extra lock and need another gear as soon as hand returns to the wheel, or using indicators/wipers and foot hard in hanging on for dear life with stupid grin on your face, you know how it is.....etc...etc...

some people have, and like them, not for me :)

I'm going to get some, I don't like the carbon ones but something like the ones pictured. I like to use the paddles, (F1 geek) so I hope these will help the reach to them.

I like you am not keen on the fake carbon look, was thinking about the black with red detail as think these would look the most subtle to the eye. I find myself using paddles quite a bit to pre-empt an overtake while still in Drive mode so box is ready to go when you are or I use Manual mode, Sport hasn't had a look in yet.

They do not look to bad

I've got em and would recommend them for making paddles easier to reach/use.

In my car thread there are pics and details

Before I forget the ones pictured have the wrong profile to stick to our paddles.

The golf ones are too curved.

We need flatter ones, skoda or Audi compatible is what you need not vw

Is there a change in the shape/profile of the MK2 vRS Fabia paddles from when the Steering Wheel and interior was changed?

i do not know the answer, never looked at the new ones,   maybe Sharkrider or Furbytom will know.

I just seem to remember having read something about them.

Another thread.

Yes George, my paddles are different to my last vRS... I like them better, I use them often, and my fingers can find them instinctively and easily :) they seem to be better shaped than the early ones

Ooh interesting do they look the same as the VW ones Sharky.

WrightCNC maybe worth ignoring my advice until confirmed.

Yeah the paddles on mine all shapely, had they been flat backed it would make life much easier to copy the profile and machine some nice ally paddles to fit but it's not worth the effort when £20/£30 quid off fleebay and they fit straight on.

I don't know, if someone had the skills and equipment to make some nice ally ones, I'd put my order in too!

Correct

Those in post 1 won't fit

Follow the thread 'fitted at last' mentioned earlier

These are fitted to a face lifted mk2. (11 plate)
