windows going down by themselves?

Featured Replies

twice now I've found the windows down on my car when I've gone to unlock it. 1st time by about 2cm, 2nd time by 20cm. Has anyone got any idea what might be causing this? thanks

It might be you've accidentally been holding the unlock button down continuously. It normally happens to women when they put their keys in their handbags so have you got stuff in your pockets the could hold the button down as you walk away from your car?

hmmmm - good idea. thanks. I'm not aware of pockets being full, but it sounds logical.

If you have maxidot you can turn off the window convenience feature (it allows you to tell it to open the drivers or all windows with the hold of the unlock button or to switch it off). I turned mine off as i found mine open a few days after buying the car; had also experienced it on other vag cars Id owned with the same feature.

The only downside of turning it off is that you cannot comfort close the windows anymore; debatably more useful than being able to open them!
