Rear Brakes Binding

Featured Replies

Hi All. Need to sort my rear brake, and want to know if a winding tool will / may / or not, be required. The pads and disc look fine and no ridge, just binding. I have replaced front discs and pads before. Cheers. And why does my writing all close up and when I "preview post" I cannot return to original writing. Have a good giggle by all means, but I bet that I am not the only one. If there is somewhere I can learn to do better posts, please direct me to it. (I don't even know what topic tags are?). Cheers.

Post looks fine to me, and yes a wind back tool will be required for the rear brakes.

If the piston is really stiff to wind in/out you can damage the notches on the piston as it's not hard steel resulting in cam out where the tool just slips out of the piston notches.

No worries though as you can still wind the piston with a pair of pipe grips, albeit in very small increments.

Just be careful not to nip and tear the dust seal.
