Best dogbone make and other bushes etc

Featured Replies

Evening ladies and gentlemen

I am looking to replace my dogbone bush/mount and want to know the best make and best place to aquire one from.

I have searched but it didn't turn up much and its all a bit outdated.

Also while I am swapping bushes are there any that would be cool to replace at the same time? Perhaps lower engine bush?

Again just after some advice, ideas and places to buy.

Thanks in advance. Maz

I got powerflex from awesome gti and it is amazing.

Is the lower engine mount bush and the dogbone bush the same this as I can find the dogbone anywhere online.

I recommend Powerflex

I bought mine from Motorsport world

I've got a powerflex one, and bought it from the powerflex online shop.

Me too mate, although mine kind of went through Awesome GTI when processing the order.

Can't recommend the product enough too!

I will indeed. I think i'll check the how to guide!

Really good upgrade, best bang for buck mod ive done. made a massive difference!

Hi. I used one of these from Ebay 190997764034 - MAPCO Engine Mounting.

Excellent quality good delivery good price

The old one was totally wrecked. Also replaced lower arms, rear bushes and arb links rods again from Ebay - 160960619630

I removed the bracket with the bushes and arms in one go, and used this tool - 380831433000 - to remove and refit the bushes.

There are some awesome guides on this site, take the time to read them. Print them if you can.

Good luck

Matthew

Fitted the bush today, nice easy job, well, considering I have an entire garage at my disposal.

when pressing the bush into the bone it clipped off some of the lip of the bush. This was rather annoying but I don't think it will affect it.

First impressions, pretty bloody vibraty** keys jangle on idle, apparently there is something in my glovebox that rattles too lol.  I'm hoping it settles down a bit after a few miles.

Has cured the problems i was getting before and has stiffened everything up. Very sporty feel indeed.

Cheers to Jase for diagnosing it. a bush is a lot cheaper than a clutch!
