Featured Replies

Bypassing my n249 valve today.. going to do it in such a way as to leave it plugged in for now

Eager to see the difference it will make

Look forward to hearing how this goes

I will take some pics.. apparently doing it this way means the electrical connection remains so doesn't throw a fault but the valve is bypassed on the vacuum side...

I did mine this way works a dream

Pics etc would be great. Im thinking of doing it more each day

Yh pics nd a guide would be good please

****e weather today chaps, hammering down here.. I will take pics tomorrow for you

And for the above comment... that link is for a total removal not a bypass!! One day I plan on a total removal but while this weather is here this works fine and only takes 10 mins to do

Good thing to do the simplification as its pointless having it electrically operated when it's a manual system... You'll probably find it drives smoother too

I am looking to do this shortly just trying to find a dry day when im off work.

All you need is...

A meter of 4mm vac line (I had a nice amount like left, about 20cm' s)

A "T" piece

And a couple of small jubilee clips and cable ties

10 mins of your time and wollah

Also, in the process you get rid of that stupid ugly black box that sits over coil 4 plus the bracket aswel

Get it done lads :-D

ByPassed my N249 just, DV is alot louder. :)

I completely removed mine at the weekend including all pipe work, and removed the SAI system at the same time.

I didn't notice much difference at all. Apart from the ASR system can't dump the boost now.

You get used to it, the asr still works just uses the throttle i assume

I think I have more hoses,  pipes and hard lines I removed than I got left on the car....

Yeah, the throttle will still close to cut the power. The ASR losing control of the bypass valve is a good thing. Used to annoy the hell out of me coming out of a corner and the boost disappearing

Seriously there are loads of guides out there. Depends if you want to remove all the stuff or just bypass n249. To bypass is a 10 minute job as mentioned and very simple guides.
