I have been given a 60plate Superb 140cr SE with nearly 90k on it by my employer. This replaces the 11 plate Peugeot 508 1.6hdi with 60k on it.

No doubt the Skoda is a far better car than that rubbish Peugeot chosen because I was ordered to get something with less than 125 carbons. My favourite cars previously were 56 plate 520d SE and a 20k 59 plate C180 saloon Blue Efficiency my wife drives. I also had for a year a new shape 60 plate 520d SE estate with all the toys on. Also, I have been quoted as saying my favourite car ever was a W210 E class from 1999 on a V with 120k on when I bought it in 2005 which I took on to 198k in 2 years. E220cdi Elegance. I stand by that. Magic carpet ride, amazing strength inside and outside, a bit of rust bubbling but nothing like others have reported. So cheap and made you feel a bit special.

Got to say the 90k Skoda is right up there. It feels right, planted and solid whilst still being agile. Rides better than the BMW! More spacious than the C class. Road noise is worse than the c class but somehow it has more character. Reminds me a bit of all those Saabs I grew up with and subsequently owned and loved. Probably it won't rob a place in my heart from that amazing E Class.....

I join this forum, expecting to soon be swapped out of my current Superb into a new one the same. Will be very interesting to see the difference. 1999 E Class challenger, let's see. It could just possibly be...
