Bluetooth - No message tones

Featured Replies

When I connect my iPhone to my Octavia via Bluetooth the message tones are muted. Is this normal?  I've tried lots of different settings but can't seem to find a fix.

I have the same ‘problem’ with the older Columbus (MKII Superb) and an iPhone, interesting to see the new one is the same... probably more down to the phone TBH.

Yep I think it's an iPhone thing.

If you're streaming music from the phone ALL the tones with be audible otherwise it will only send the ringtone to the stereo.

Having said that we've only tried it with iPhones so it may affect other makes but it's not a fault as such, it's just the way it works

I still get all my message tones on my iphone when connected to the cars bluetooth.....

Thanks anyway guys, obviously not just my iPhone and car.

Neil,

Is that when you're listening to music from your phone too?

I'm just wondering if I'm missing something.

No, I've never even tried that as I have my iPod connected via mitsumi.

Many thanks for your helpful and ever so slightly insulting post.

Lets keep this on topic rather than a pointless dig at a choosen manufacturer.

Neil,

Since we're back on track did you do anything in the set up of your phone or the stereo other than pair the Bluetooth?

Oh and is it the standard bolero you have?

Cheers,

Mike

Point taken Mod. and correction made below.

Apple's communication protocol doesn't work well with more mainstream/accepted protocols.

MY 5C and Amunsden+ does the same, once paired/connected all audio is routed through the headunit. It's the same if you have bluetooth headphones or speakers. Problem is if I am on the radio or SD card or MDI then no message audio is heard.

My Samsung is the same but used to work ok on my old fl
