Rust Advice

Featured Replies

I have tried searching and only found one similar case to me...

Changed my number plate lights over to LED today and noticed that when i removed the holders from the car there was rust inside the edges where the holder goes into the car if that makes sense (unfortunately didn't get any pictures).

What are peoples thoughts about getting this done under the anti-corrosion warranty or tackling it myself as it seems fairly minor. If so what products do you recommend?

Thinking of also getting new holders as the seal seems to have failed if water is getting in?!

Thanks!

Pretty sure someone on here has had the tailgate replaced for rust issue's, don't think it was related to the number plate light holes but bubbles around the number plate area.

I've had mine replaced because of this. Take it to a skoda dealer and they will sort it out.

Did they replace the whole tail gate?

The only rust on mine is in the same place - number plate light holes. Noticed when I was changing the bulbs.

You gonna get it looked at by the dealer?

The car is 03 reg, so I presume it's too late?

From my searching on here I think it's 10 years for the anti corrosion. I'll take mine in on Monday for them to have a look and get them to confirm!

Had my octavias boot replaced by skoda. If you dont ask...

Those of you who had your bootlid replaced, what did they do about your spoilers? As far as I'm aware they are bonded on so would need to be replaced also.
