throttle body cleaning... dilemma! :-/

Featured Replies

True to form my luck continues... removed TB for cleansing and it appears there was no gasket. Either that or it has perished beyond belief..

Before the clean the car idled fine. Now it idles like ****e yet goes like a stabbed rat :-s

Looking at getting a new gasket Monday which I hope sorts my problem

Fix one issue, uncover another :-(

The skoda gaskets are big 'n' green, you couldn't really miss it if it was there, they're not that skinny either, at a guess I'd say just over 1mm thick.

It's easy to diagnose most people's problems fairly quickly but you do so much with yours at a time that it could be anything causing your rough idle.

How are you finding it power wise compared to your E30?

**** y idle def since the TB clean mate.. def responds better since cleaning that and maf but now idles like ****!

Gunna buy a new gasket Monday that should cure it...

Hard to compare to e30... the nature of delivery of power in this means it feels quicker however.... the e30 was a brute up top!! All the goodies were 5500-7200rpm.. And top end was savage. 115- 3rd, 135- 4th, off the clocks (150) in 5th...

I think once running proper, this would give it a good go but hmmm I dunno lol

I reused the original gasket and used a thin layer of gasket sealant. No issues here!!
