As per the title, my Autotech hollow lightweight tubular rear anti roll bar (swaybar) for sale.  Three way adjustable. 

 

Removed from the car by Alex @ AKS on Friday, only been on the car since Jan '13 so it's pretty much as new.

 

Comes with the original Autotech bushes (as new) plus a set of Super Pro universal poly bushes and clamps (as per pics these are on the bar right now) PLUS a new unopened set of Super Pro bushes and grease pack.

State-of-the-Art Autotech Swaybars

 

A few years ago, Autotech introduced lightweight tubular swaybars that are a significant advance in swaybars for Volkswagens. Our lightweight swaybars use hollow tubing to reduce weight by as much as 50 percent! We use different wall thickness material in order to change stiffness for each chassis application. Our tubular swaybars can be 35% to 50% lighter than equivalent rate solid bars.

 

These swaybars offer two advantages:

 

1) Greater anti-roll action (than most competitor's bars)
2) Significantly reduced weight

 

Autotech has designed these swaybars to provide increased stiffness, yet they often weigh far less than solid bars with a similar rate. For example, our 25mm lightweight front swaybar for the Golf 2 is 32% stiffer than a 22mm solid bar, yet it weighs 31% less. At the rear of the cars, where conventional swaybars get heavy, Autotech's lightweight bars can reduce swaybar weight by as much as 50%! Don't be fooled by their light weight, though! Our lightweight swaybars are every bit as strong as conventional swaybars and will probably outlast the rest of the car! Our lightweight swaybars can weigh ten or more pounds less than other bars.

 

Any racer can tell you: shedding any weight at all from a car is tough, let alone removing this many pounds. All in all, what this means for your car's performance is this: quicker response and better handling. Get rid of those boat anchors called "racing swaybars" you're using now and get serious...get lightweight.

Thee sets of bushes included in total, the superpro one's are brand new (25 quids worth) plus new tube of unopened superpro special grease.

 

N.b. in the last pic the end of the bar is just grubby, no damage/rust etc.

 

Collection preferred; Oxford or Andover.   I could ship if necessary at buyers cost but i'd need payment in advance and you might have to wait a week or so.

Unbelievable. Well it's not if your sale was 'secured' on the mk5 forum.

What do these do? Sorry not been one for handling mods thus far

reduces body roll in corners. flatter cornering = more stability and better grip.  no detriment in ride quality either which is good.

 

probably the biggest improvement you can make to an octavia in terms of handling.  all for 150 quid

Cancels out the under-steer of the stock setup, makes the turn-in much nicer.

 

I have a Whiteline on mine but same principles apply - great mod.

Easy fit?

Yes. Really easy to fit and will make a massive difference. It makes it feel less like a coach in corners.

Hmm, Ok well i might sell an old car this weekend.... if this is still available then and if it fits a pre FL MK2 ill be interested then.
