Yeh. Thought its time I out together abit of a project thread. But not sure how far ill get or gow good it will be lol.

but here we go :D

Just put a nice big load of photos to load on photo bucket . So pics to come soon :)

Anyways got it last summer. Tottaly standard. But didnt know at the time quite high spec. . Heated seats. Air con. Cruise control. Fridge glove box. Projector lights.

Stayed standard for a while. Just gave it a good polish up. Amd turned out to have ot a single bit of respray on any pannel. (Went to look at 6 others and all had paint to some degree ranging from a painted corner on rear bumper too one looking like it had been in a roll over)

The night I got ot home I put led side lights in

Then got its first bit of change. Egr mapped out and a mild remap by Fraboka. Noticed the changes straight away :)

Then after a couple more months went for his high range map. Even better.

Next on the list was a front splitter. Got that on ebay for 30 quid. So was made up m fitted it the day it arrived. Went to be beach and torn it off on the sand :/

So secured it one bit better haha

after that came led fog lights and number plate lights

Thenn a stone hit one of the new ones on the day after I fitted and smashed it!! So they are back offm but gonna put back soon :)

25quid from halfords or 20 from maplin. Bargain amd slide straight in (had them on my last car fpr 2 years fine haha)

Next under braking and accelerating the car sometimes banged on bumps so let it develop till one day I had to slam on on the motorway. And the wheel shot to one side. Checked it out in work and thw center of one of my console bushes had popped out... straight onto flow flex and bought some sexy poli bushes. And packed old bush wish bits of wood to get me home haha. When fitting found out the front bolt has been cross threaded in past amd siezed up. Had to work it out slowly in and out with wd40.once side took ten mins to do (on asda car park at ngiht :D ) the other side took 45 mins to undo one bolt grrr. But it didnt snap thank god. Handling wasuch tighter

Then came the white line anti roll bar. Mice and simple 20 mins to fit! Which never happens for me haha.

Then not allot really for a few months apart from using it as a rally work horse. Going watching the welsh rally amd got bit caught up thining it was a rally car a few times haha

Forgot to mention. The green mudflaps :D did have 4 of them but about 2 weeks after I put them on. I was reversing up a curb and got them trapped between the wheel and curb. When I went up heard a little click then as I went back further. Seen 2 nice mudflaps lay neatly on the floor :/

Anyways. Then came the pd150 hybrid after the original turbowent bang on cChristmas eve :(

Bought off xmas and spent my Christmas day in the cold and wet fitting it. Great service and communication. Just was quite a far way out to set up. But got there in the end :)

Turbo on and set up. Mapped it too suite . And goes like a rocket

About 2 weeks after my turbo was set up. It ate the egr pipe apart so made up a nice blanking plate for it. While I was swapping the turbo I also cleaned up the inlet manifold and egr as they were full of soot amd about half the ID they should be. To keep it clean the egr was blanked and also done the elephant mod to keep things clean

pics to come

sorry about the groups of random picks. Still catching up stuff ive done months ago and not used to using photo bucket lol

Forgot. Changed me cam belt aswell about a month ago. Had it sitting in my boot for couple of weeks till I decided to attack it one weekend. And while I done it. Also chanhed the water pump. And result. Used to use water and had to top ot up alittle every couple of weeks. Now its ok :) and also the timing had been done in the past using tipex and the cam was lined up dead in the middle of its adjustment (which im told is wrong and a common mistakes)

All went smoothly with is a rarity for me. New pump on. New belt on and timed it up with my pc. Got it to fluctuate between - and+. Can't remember how close it was . But it was bang on more or less. Since then my mpg went up by about 5mpg. Avagaring about 50 on a good day

pics coming

Right. Down to the cooler. Was on gumtree when I come across this little bargain at 20 quid

IMG_20140205_234239_zps4wkqxq7d.jpg

For that price. Thought id give it a try. Off an evo 9 not perfect condition. But for that price who can complain.

Anyways bumper off and lets see what we are playing with

IMG_20140209_151909_zpsecopexu2.jpg20140209_143545_zps9vljcl3i.jpg

Thats when I realised just how big it was amd how tight it would be. Worked out it would just about fit. With some "alterations"

Got to work. First by adapting the crash bar. Cut out a section. Slimmed it and re welded back in. To stop it looking tooo butchered

Last package! !

20140221_140358_zpsi22wdx7l.jpg

unwrapped and fitted saturday.

Bottom pipe was nice and easy. Ran from turbo. Between engine and rad. Then at os of rad through to cooler.

20140222_133941_zpsz9quxjh5.jpgIMG-20140222-WA0006_zps9jxvts1y.jpg

top pioe was allot tighter. Think 60mm was bit big. But made it fit :)

Made a nice clamp out of flat bar . Bending to a p shape to clamp the hose. To take pressure off of the turbo clip

Oh and also made a little swaging tool from a pair of mole grips. Used welder to sculpt a swaging press shape. Not the neatest job but done the job well I thought. Meant I could buy long lengths of alloy tube and save money ;)

Guessing you missed my post, I was the original owner of this car, ordered June '06 and took delivery in September.  Kept it for 2.5 years and did just under 40k miles, was a cracking little car!

Hey! Its a cracking little car. Just over 100k now still going strong. Think the owner between you and me has looked afyer it on the cheep side but still looking good.

Had no pain on it and everything is how it should be :)

I bet it looks strange seeing it on here?

Yes it is weird, it was only a month or two ago a put a post in the Fabia section asking if anyone owns it.  I kept a full SUK service history from new, iirc it was about 400 miles off its 40k service when I px'd it for a Civic Type R at Lightcliffe Honda in Warrington, was in mint condition then, there wasn't a scratch or mark on it, bar the odd stone chip.

Had no trouble with it while I had it either other than leaking rear doors and the alarm going off in the night when the temperature outside dropped, both were sorted under warranty.

Good job on the intercooler!

You could of cleaned it before putting the bumper back on though ;)

But i bet you were too excited? Hah

It was clean and sprayed silver. Iput it in parts bath in work so spotless insode and out. The black is spray paint. Im in half a mind to spray it black for stealth look. But not sire yet

And it really was a tight squeeze. Put little notches in bottom of bumper for pipes to bend. Cut behind corner grill to allow pipe work to run. Have to remove my fog light on ns and make it shallower to allow the pipe to run better. But thats a job for when I have the pipes clamped properly lol
