4 year service and cambelt change

Featured Replies

My Scout is having it's 4 year service and cambelt change on Wednesday.  Is it normal for the dealer to change the water pump automatically, or do I have to specify that I want it changed?

What engines this?

1.6tdi cr 90bhp.

Ask for the pump to be changed, since it is not normally replaced as part of the cambelt kit. its worth replacing it now otherwise in the future if the pump fails, you'll end up doing the cambelt again as it has to come off to replace the pump.

Thanks Gents, dropped the car off tonight. Cambelt is being changed for free as that was the deal I negotiated when I bought the service plan.  Water pump is being changed for £100, so all good. Bonus is, I've got a nice new Octavia as a loan car.
