Learnt something new about ordering a car...

Featured Replies

We have a Citigo Elegance ASG on order and patiently been waiting for the build week to get closer and closer.

All the updates I have heard up to now are from the dealer (Alex Lawrie, Liverpool) who has been emailing me every couple of weeks.

But yesterday I thought I'd get in touch with Skoda Customer Services UK (SUK CS) and get an update on our order.

First I sent online enquiry onthe Skoda website and then within a couple of hours I got a phone call from SUK CS. A chap called John G*** rang and he first of all gave me my Skoda order number (which up to now I hadn't received). The order number was SLI 2xxxxxx5.

He then explained the build process and how I was allocated my build week, which was interesting!

Then he told me the most important part, which is knowing the status of you order. Mine is currently status 10 which is a provisional build week and this could still change. But around two weeks prior to the build week this should change to status 20 which means the build week is confirmed and the car will be built on that week.

He then explain once built and the car is ready for shipping it will change to various status 30 codes to determine where the car is between Bratislava, Emden, the UK port and then finally at the dealer. This normally takes about 3 weeks.

Then he told me the most interesting part. SUK CS are only based around the corner from me in Leeds, lol!

Nice one.

Now why can't the dealers tell us that. Probably too busy spending their commission to find out and keep customers happy!!!!!!

I received this on April 27th 2013 before I collected my car from the dealer on May 3rd 2013.  Status code:  40 was obviously good! :)
