DTUK tuning boxes...

Featured Replies

Anyone tried one of these on a fabia II vRS?

Not had one but looks like an interesting option. The website lists a 15bhp gain (185? To 200). Not sure if that is necessarily all that great value for money considering it costs the best part of £500. I'm sure the torque increases are very noticeable tho.

Looks like they also offer finance now too - wonder if you could have a box on PCP whereby you can hand it back after 3 years or trade it in using any equity towards your next box lol!!!

I'm well tempted to look into one of these for my 120d tho. Lists a gain from 184bhp to 230bhp which would be quite tasty! :-)

the gains are always small on the 1.4tsi ... I ran a tmc box on my old cave engine and it gave 200bhp.... with exhausts and intakes they have been known to give 215.....

however its not the top power thats the thing, its the "area above the curve" on compaired maps... throughout the rev range.... so you really notice!

much better gains from deisel, and I bet the BMW wont **** up too lol.... I'm gonna get my standard car on the RR first .... DTUK reccon its the 185ps engine anyway! lol.. if it gives 190bhp on the rollers, I wouldn't bother ;)

I am pretty sure that the 1.4 TSi 178 bhp/180 ps /132 kW does produce more power as standard than the Official Minimum Figures

But then the 1.4 TFSI 183 BHP/185 PS./136 kW engine in the Audi Produces more as well than those figures.

So are DTUK just taking the Audi Figures and using them for the representation of the SEAT, SKODA & VW Twinchargers?

It does make you wonder. I'd be interested to find out which car they used to develop the map they put on the box. We know from the threads on the Octy 3 section that the maps are developed using the "bum dyno".

I imagine the gains feel more than they look on paper, small things like shifts in where the low down torque comes in and by how much make huge differences to drivability, not necessarily the WOT end result, because that is brisk in standard format, but the pick up and response from low revs can make the car feel far faster.

Would be good to see what one of these can do.  Maybe somebody ought to PM Andrew @ DTUK about loaning out a trial box to somebody, if it was good I'm sure he would bag a lot of business.

Sharkrider, maybe we should arrange to meet at Awesome, perhaps try and get a few other North Western Fabias along, then we can see what each car runs, but all on the same Dyno?  Shame MikeJay has organised his RR day for the same as Combe.

The guys in Germany (DTE Systems) do produce a box for the 1.4TSI and the kit was developed on an Audi A1, I'm trying to see if they can supply any dyno data to back up the claims of 206PS and 290nm of torque.

Are any of you guys local to us?  (DH9 - Durham)
