Diesel particulate filter error on new Octavia 150 bhp

Featured Replies

Hi

Have been looking forward to get my Octavia ordered for 5 month ago, and i received it last Friday.

Unfortunate, after just 220 km., the error "Diesel particulate filter" appeared. The manual advised me to drive minimum 15 minutes with a minimum of 70 km/h, rpm between 1800-2500 in 4. or 5. gear. Have already done that, but the error did not disappear :(

I will contact the dealer tomorrow, but before doing that, I would like to know if any of you had experienced this error on a brand new car? I really can't believe that the DPF can't regen after just 250 km.

It depends on driving profile but a regen around 750-1000km woulld be normal.

I would take it to the dealer & its most likely something simple like a connector is not fitted properly causing a sensor error.

I had that display on a 150tdi I had on loan in January - it was a demo vehicle so I was surprised, given that it'd probably have been thrashed enough already in its 3000 mile old life to clear the filter out. :(

Yes I had loads of issues. Search for DPF and you'll find my thread.

Hopefully the dealer will sort it out quickly but mine took 6 weeks and was finally found to be 1.6 TDi engine sensors in the 2.0TDi engine !!!

Nick295, have just been reading your topic with your DPF error - glad to hear that they found and corrected the problem! Do you know the name of the sensors they replaced?

I think it is the same problem in my car and I will use your "experience" to advice them about what the problem could be. I don't think the dealer has a clue about what the problem is.
