The Fabia, AKA Kyles VRS SE

Featured Replies

Good morning guys! I am going to be creating a bit of a thread tracking the progress on my Fabia - I have been a member over at UKMKIVs for a while now and made some fantastic friends along the way. Initially I owned a 1.6 16v MK4 Golf - then moved on to a V5 20v MK4 Golf. Following on from that I have purchased my Skoda Fabia VRS SE and I am over the moon with it!

The Fabia didnt stay standard for very long. List of modifications:

52mm boost gauge

Seat Sport front upper strut brace

Honda S2000 air filter

Cupra front splitter

Rear wiper delete

Stamped plates front and back

New style black & chrome Skoda badges front and back

Polo aerial

Team Heko wind deflectors

6000k HID conversion

Connects2 audio box

FK AK Street Coilovers

Shortened Droplinks

312mm Front brake upgrade

3SDM 0.05 - 8.5J front and 9.5J rear

Mufflerectomy with powerflow discreet tip

Side strips removed (took about 4 hours . . . urgh)

No camber shims or spacers at present, considering 1 degree of rear wheel camber soon.

Pictures? Absolutely! They were taken from the day I installed the coilovers.

And thats as much as I have for the moment! Im looking at installing 1 degree rear wheel camber shims when I change the rear brakes just to cut down on the tyre scrub. Im extremely impressed with the 3SDMS fitment with no spacers or shims, they have 215/40/18 Nankang NS2s wrapped around them giving just the right ammount of stretch. Overall im impressed with the car, and I love how it looks! It will be going on the rolling road at Shark soon as I believe the car has been remapped at some point in its past, so it would be nice to know exactly what she is producing.

Comments and feedback would be much appreciated!

You will be scraping you a**e on the floor in that thing like a Carrera GT3 lol. Nice colour btw.

Hate to be negative but surely there isn't a hope in hell you will get away with driving on anything but a flat carpark with that rear arch gap?

Wow thats close! Need airride for that stance, how do you find the little stubby ariel? Where is it from?

Nice car though!

I havent had any scraping issues whatsoever at this height! The subframe has massive clearance from the floor so im not too worried about how she sits :)

The arch clearance is fine, havent had any problems so far and I consider myself to be quite experienced in this field (had a mix of coilovers and then airride for quite a while on my golf) but I feel the 1 degree shims will prevent anything that could happen.

The aerial is a polo aerial off ebay - cost me £15 and is a genuine part, I get better reception with it than the standard one that was on the car!

Looking good!! I think you should swap your s2000 filter for the black and red one like I've got to match your strut brace it would look alot better

Ill be ordering the correct coloured one when it comes time for the next service :) I agree it would tie the strut brace in much better!

Thank you :)
