New Electrical Faults

Hello chaps,

 

I've recently been experiencing a few new issues with the Y-reg Fabia 1.9 TDI.

 

I've noticed that the interior light no-longer comes on when the doors open, the lights warning buzzer doesn't come on either.

 

I checked the fuses and didn't see anything gone there, is there a switch/sensor somewhere that might have failed? and how do i get at it?

 

I've also been experiencing some issues getting the boot to open on the afterarket remote central locking. It's become quite intermittent.

 

Recently I had to charge up the battery as I had been changing lights, went to restart and nothing. I bought a new battery charger, left it on overnight and was able to start, the boot lock also seemed to operate properly after a charge. I've not been doing much mileage recently so perhaps the alternators not had much chance to charge the battery.

Failed microswitch on the driver's door lock inside the door. Very common problem...

Offending article looks like this and is mounted on the door lock mechanism...

Thanks, will wait for a sunny day to do this as I think I need to remove the door carriers and repair the seals, may as well kill two birds with one stone. I wonder when we'll have a sunny day? maybe October
