If the A/C is on, it allows chilled air into that compartment. The compartment holds one 330Ml can of fizzy pop.

If the heater is on it allows warm air to flow in so your condoms are warm.

There's also a rotary dial in the glove box to allow chilled/ warm air into that to keep a pasty warm or a sandwich cool.
