Service suggestions for my new (to me) octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Hello, new here. Just bought a 2008 octavia vRS black, with the PD engine. Good dealer service history from new until 75k miles. Got it with 94k miles on it but nothing in the service book for this period. Two questions, is there anything that should be due around this mileage and does anyone know of a good skoda dealer or independent garage in Ireland, in Dublin or the surrounding counties that would be good for giving it a good going over since it's the first service I'll be giving it. Only just got it and don't want the engine to blow up or anything.

get the oil and filter changed fast just in case-----doesn't matter who as long as it's the right grade-----worry about the rest later

I'll book it in tomorrow for a service at the weekend. Is there anything in particular to be looking out for with these?

not well up on vrs but after a full service (with fuel and air filters unless nearly new) not forgetting the pollen filter air con gas check-----and if you're planning to keep it I would change the gearbox oil and next think of doing the shocks --even with no apparent problems they'll  be past their best and after winter a good battery charge  check on cam belt etc history and brake fluid (water check)

It may not have had a service if it is on variable servicing.

Check the owners manual it will tell you how to check when it needs doing.
