Superb to Yeti Outback ?

Featured Replies

Hi lads I am thinking about moving from my 2010 Superb Elegance to a new Yeti Outback. Has any 1 moved to a Yeti from a Superb ? If so what are your thoughts Good Bad or Indifferent.

I still suffer quite bad with the left knee/leg problem that many Superb drivers had or still have.

Its time to change now so its either a New Yeti or New Octy , also if you moved from Superb to New model Octy what are your thoughts.

Cheers , Ray.

What do you mean?

I incured a sore/stiff left knee/leg from my knee constantly rubbing off the center console in my Superb as many other drivers did , search it in this forum.

Other drivers changed their car and the problem went with some physio of course.

A, ok, my steering wheel is on wrong side :D

I had a yeti for 4 days as a courtesy car and it was really nice. Driving position was comfortable and high - I'm 6'2" and had no issues with space. I guess if you can stand to loose the Superb's boot and rear legroom it's a good change.

Have not noticed this left knee effect , probably because I have replacement knees , that the answer get a replacement left knee and keep  your lovely  Superb.

I presume its the 'Outdoor' you are referring to?  I have driven a few Yetis and it is a very different drive to the Superb.  Higher driving position and surprisingly comfortable but the Superb is in a different league.  There is a huge difference in refinement levels.  The knee issue must be annoying though - I'm not that tall so don't have that problem luckily.  The transmission tunnel is less intrusive in the Yeti AFAIK.  Depends on your needs really - is it space, comfort etc or do you need higher ground clearance for rough terrain maybe?

No knee problems in my DSG Superb, but my right hip hates the constrained sides on the electric seat to the extent that I use a custom-made seat squad on top of the seat.  Left knee was a  terrible problem in my B5 Passat manual, though.  And in Ford Sierra manuals.  And a friend has the knee problem in his Audi A3.

Jeeze - you all sound like the stereotypical moaning pensioners that own Skodas

LOL   :giggle:

Chris - no knee issues - but, I'm only 5'6"

As you are only 5, 6" tall, I asume posting on internet is the only time you get to insult people.

So your post was/is the insult

I had a superb for a few weeks before getting my Octavia 3, I know what you mean about the left leg, I got a bit of back ache too. But in the Octavia no problems I find it much more comfortable. It's a better size without really losing to much internal space. More updated kit and tech, more rewarding drive, better fuel economy. Down sides are not as well made, and the ride is firmer and misses a few of the extra features like gas struts on the bonnet dash lights on the air vents etc. I know they are only little things but some people will miss them.

The original poster must have read my mind; we're considering the same switch in the next few months but I have a slightly different question.

I have a set of winter tyres on 16" steel wheels that normally live on my 2010 Superb elegance, does anyone know if they'd fit happily on an Elegance spec Yeti Outdoor 2.0 170 DSG?
