Skoda first 7 days insurance

Featured Replies

Not that I'd usually recommend an insurance company but, I was very surprized that the company quoting the 7 days free insurance when you pick up your new car were very competitive. 8.5% below my current multicar deal with Aviva so, worth giving them a chance to quote for the full year & their also covering upto £100 of cancellation charges from your current insurer.

Used 7 day insurance couple of weeks ago but the full quote was about £200 more per year than present company. Won't be using them, although 7 day does take some hassle out of getting insurance details so they can tax car.

They were roughly double the insurance for me.

The guy was even apologetic to me, explaining it wasn't competitive because of my age, mileage and profession.

If they were closer if of used them.

As I understand it dealers no longer require evidence of insurance cover. I've just been down to sort the paperwork for Saturday delivery of vRS and all they wanted was my driving licence they could copy it for their files...

Hmmmm..  Maybe my insurance wasn't that competitive then, £301.05 for the year, me (mid 40's) & the wife (mid 30's), fully comp on a 1.4 TSI DGS.

Dunno, I was confused that my insurance cost went down going from 05 plate 2.0 TDI manual to 14 plate 1.4 TSI DGS, no figuring these insurance companies.

I believe they still have to make sure you have insurance to register the car for road tax, unless they are automatically giving you the 7 day free insurance.

Skoda quoted me nearly three times the amount I got the car insured for, it made me laugh.

Gees oh, where do you stay? I'm less than that for my vRS, mid(ish) thirties and kept on drive etc etc.

Wife renewed hers and it was under £150! Did a quote with the same company for me and was £80 less than current so I'll be swapping come change time.

My insurance was 570 with the company I'm with now.

16k a year commuting and 23 with 3yrs no claims.

Skoda wanted over 1200!

Skoda were cheaper for me the first year I had a vRS, but the second year they were over £250 dearer than the company I eventually went with. They were beaten by another company at renewal, who were consequently beating this year at renewal.

It sometimes pays to shop around.

Skoda insurance wanted over £200 more than direct line who I went with.

Greenlight wouldn't insure me at all and I'd been with them for 9 years! Never claimed either.

The nice lady from Skoda was very apologetic when she quoted me a price of £1,700.00.

After I picked myself up from the floor and stopped laughing, I informed her of my quote for £466.00 with another company (which I went with)

It suprises me how insurance companies can be so diverse.
