Centre console switches

Featured Replies

At the bottom of the centre console, just above the ashtray, there is a switch for disabling the traction control and an airbag warning light.

Between these, there are three dummy switches, which I would like to replace for live switches. Can anybody tell me where I can buy these switches? Ebay shows next to nothing, and nor does a google search. Unless it's me just being thick, which is quite possible.

I have a plan in place which relies on this and was expectiong to be able to choose from a range of switches to suit my needs.

Anybody any ideas?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Dealer part cheap enough

Apart from what you have, there are only switches made for TPMS or parking sensors/ park assist and they work in a certain way in terms of how they provide a signal.  PM me if you are interested in a spare parking sensor switch I have.  Otherwise you are probably looking at dealers or TPMS/parking sensor looms with the switch as an integral part.

I also wondered this about the switches.

As mentioned above, I assume the switches are sprung NO (normally open) and will only provide a 'signal' or continuity when held down - as in they probably don't latch on and off. This makes them not much use for switching on and off non standard functions. Of course, I could be totally wrong, the best way to tell would be to test one with a multimeter.

That is correct. Although the parking sensor switch effectively latches for a while longer i.e. until you go forward at 15kph or more, but I imagine by the module interpreting the the signal sent to it by the momentary latch.
