Black line vRS alloys or refurb current wheels?

Featured Replies

Question for those in the know about alloys...

If, for example, I wanted some blackline alloys on an octavia, would it be cheaper to buy a set of them and then sell the non-blackline versions of the same wheels that are currently on the car, or would it be cheaper to refurb current alloys and change to black?

I'm right in thinking the only difference is the colour, yeah? (VRS tdi octavia)

Thx

I can highly recommend this company...Better than new afterwards!!

More than double the price on eBay for a new set and not as good as the refurbished ones....that's a promise

Cheers guys. So you're saying that selling a set of mint condition non-black alloys will only fetch half of the price of the blacklines? I suppose it makes sense but not sure how I can drive a car with no wheels so would prob have to buy/ borrow a set while they were being refurbed.

Full set of Neptune's may fetch £250/£300 tops, full set os Skoda Black Neptune's must be £750.

Drop your car off at The wheel Specialist and pick up later.  Wheels off, tyres off, Power coated, tyres back on Wheels refitted to car.

Gotcha thanks! Didn't realise they could turn around a set of alloys that quickly. Cheers :-)

Hmmm.

I've put the Zeniths from my Octy on eBay as I don't really need a spare set of wheels with the wrong size tyres for the Yeti, but the idea of some really tidy gloss black wheels for the Yeti is starting to appeal...

Or to put it another way, I think I'd prefer a set of black Zeniths for the Yeti than to get not a lot for them.

Gotcha thanks! Didn't realise they could turn around a set of alloys that quickly. Cheers :-)

The car might need an overnight stay but Hey......You have Black Gloss wheels, or any colour you like

...but NOT Gold!!!  :S

Where are you from? Midlands Car Care offer a highly recommended service if you are near the West Midlands and will arrange refurb of a set of 18s for £199 and there is a very good reason why you should use them. Drop me a PM if you need more info.

Cheers, will look into them.

I've been quoted £420 for OEM wheels to be refurbed to black by TWS in Fareham. Sounds a lot more than you guys were quoted on here? Altho my quote is for 5 alloys as have a full size spare too. Seems a bit high IMO?
