Ok, so I went and saw this yesterday. Meh; it is, as the guy on the stand inelegantly put it, just some dressing. The seats are not inoffensive, I like the steering wheel, not sure I'd go for the side sill covers, the wheels have "kerb me" written all over them, I liked the red/black colour (it matches my Audi A1). They also had (amongst all of the models and the concept) a very deep, rich browny coloured L&K Yeti. I also quite like the Rapid Sportback (or whatever they call it) and the Octy Scout.

Pictures to follow as and when I get a minute.

I think we all knew it was "window dressing" already...  it uses the same engines as the rest of the range...  so? What's wrong with that? The Monte Carlo range has ALWAYS just been window dressing so no change there.

There is a brown L&K Octy on the stand too that looks very nice:

The brown Yeti is in the background.  Now just compare those wheels! Tasteful and lovely on the Octy and crass and horrid on the Yeti.  Heck those Origamis are the ugliest wheels I've seen on a car in many a year. Way too closed up and "blingy".

This special edition has surprised me. I had completely dismissed the update as being a Skoda FAIL. Not that the new bolted on front end is bad if the rest of the car was similarly angular. But from these pictures I think I actually would consider buying another Yeti. I'd need to see it in the metal and also see if the seats were any different in any of the other colours. The metal grey might look particularly nice in this design.

Oh dear. Sports seats that look like something out of a Fiat 500.

That colour/pattern would be enough to put me off getting one.

Who designs these (Sporty) interiors?

Disgraceful Skoda.

I'll have you know that my Abarth 595 has sabelt sports seats that are far classier than those (although I'd have alcantara sport seats as an option on an Elegance). ;-)

Perhaps you should chose another less classy car make/model *

* insert car/model of choice....

I wonder if that is a std spec or specced up Monte as it has Bi-xenons (pr projector headlights at least) and LED rear lights,

the seats are very... marmite IMO and could be a deal breaker for most, but it is also worth remembering that they have displayed a European spec car, so certain bits will no doubt no be available over here (like the all silver roof rails on the Magnetic Brown L&K also on their stand)

Not sure about the black wheels, but I do like the black trim and I do like the seats.

The standard "Sports" seats in the MC are great, as I had them in my Yeti Urban - it was the fabric design I was referring to, with that silly stripe down the middle, and red highlights. I think they would look great though in alcantara, especially with the white stitching.

I like the Fiat 500 (and VW Up etc), but was referring to some of their ghastly interior trim colour schemes.

The FL Elegance is not available with Sports seats, being an option only on the lower models. Also, you cannot spec Sports seats in Alcantara, but only in red or silver/grey fabric.

I like that seat fabric design on a smaller car like the Citigo MC or Rapid Spaceback MC but not sure it suits a more "mature" car like the Yeti.

I like the Monte Carlo range, and I like the Yeti. But I'm not sure I'd have a Yeti Monte Carlo to be honest.

Looking more and more like Postman Pat's van.

....early in the morning, when the day is dawning, Pat thinks he's a very lucky man!

Spot the bloke whose children were little'uns when Postman Pat was on TV
