Hi All

My first posting on this forum, so Hello one and all. My first Skoda was an Octavia Tdi Elegance Estate bought new in 2001. She covered 210,000 miles before we parted company with her last year. Fantastic car, my brother-in-law now owns her and she's still on the original clutch. My wife only parted company with her after her Dad gave her his Mk4 Golf and that was on the understanding her brother would swap the Octavia back for the Golf if she didn't like it!

I've just bought my second Skoda. An 11 plate Superb II 2.0 SE Estate. I so nearly bought one four years ago but the deals were just not about as it had only just launched. Fast forward four years, I have my Superb.

I can't believe how good this car is to drive. It makes my previous Hyundai Santa Fe seem agricultural in comparison and I loved that car. The only down side to my purchase is that after just 95 miles, not having owned it for more than 24 hours, it broke down! Flashing glow plug light, car went in to limp mode and then exhaust system light came on. Not sure if this is a common fault, can't find anything relating to the newer Superb yet. It's now at my local dealer awaiting repair.

It hasn't dampened my enthusiasm for the car, and I'm itching to pick it up again. If this lives up to the Octavia's reputation, I'm going to be falling in love with Skoda all over again!
