Would you buy this VRS?

Featured Replies

Afternoon all, I am still on the search for a fabia vrs and have come across one fairly close to me and wondering if it's worth a look or not.

Here below is a link to the advert:

I was just wondering has anybody on here owned this (as they claim it's been remapped)

Also, is this high mileage for a vrs?

Thank you!

Its got the wrong size tyres on for a start!

would ask about service history/cambelt.

i'd check out the 'For sale' section on this forum first, you might find something cheaper and worth travelling for..

Would i buy it?.. No.. Reason why??... Just not apealing enough for me.. Also after buying a 04 Hybrid tuned 215Bbhp fabby for 1850... Never!

It's a lot of mileage and the guy says it's remapped but really it's just got a tuning box on it :( So that's already wrong information.

Those tyres are massive. Look like a balloon!!! These engines can rack up some high miles and perform well to the very end. But always check for service history on it I wouldn't have a problem buying it if it was well looked after and maintained properly. But as said above look though the classified on here and you will probably come across a mint one for around the same price (or a tad more). Take the tuning box off and get it mapped properly and it could be a cracker of a car!

Doesn't mention anything about service history, that would be my biggest worry on a car that has done that many miles. The wrong tyres suggests that the previous owner didn't really care for their car, personally I would shop about, lower mileage, cleaner and better examples to be had for a lower price.

Good luck  :)

I know the car sales 2 miles from me George is the owner

I would keep looking. Bought mine from a dealer, same year, 96,000 miles, full service history for just £300 more.

My mates dad owns that place George.  His son owns Coopers Cars in Ystrad.  I'll txt him if you want, or you can call them direct i suppose.

Seen simular cars (year/mileage/basic spec etc) sell for less than £1500. If it was me,id keep looking

Thanks for your help bud but after reading the above comments and researching that there are some similar, less mileage cars for cheaper i'll keep looking, thanks again tho!

LOL - It running on 205/55 R16 tyres would be enough to put me off.  If they can't put the right tyres on, what's the rest of the car like? :)

I agree with the above!

If you're skimping on decent tyres and fitting the incorrect size, what else has been overlooked?

I would keep looking mate, there are plenty of decent ones around and a forum car will have been cared for a lot better than one like this! ;-)

You can do better for the price eg one with 40,000 Miles less

+1 on the tyres, 205/55/16's will rub on the N/S/R wheel arch liner unles the owner's chopped a bit off, which is pikey in itself.

But hey, if it aint rubbin' etc etc yadda yadda, :dull:

I just bought mine a month back.

£3500

85000 Miles

FSH

Full leathers

Cruise Control

Cambelt and Waterpump done at 59,000.

That is expensive purely based on the mileage.

No chance would I pay that price for a vrs with 150k on the clock. Two grand at the most.
