What products can I use to give the engine bay a spruce up ?

Autoglym engine cleaner's pretty good I've found.

I guess it depends what you want to achieve? Just get rid of the dust and dirt or so that and have nice shiny plastics ect.

The first step would be to get rid of the dust and grime and then to have nice shiny plastics etc.

Gunk for any really oily deposits

Then Chemical Guys products for the rest

Things like the MAF and things with a plug, wrap them in cling film.

I find muc-off bike spray makes the plastics look nice and wet!

Water beads up on it really well also!

Stays on for about 4 weeks as well! ;-)

Brake cleaner and a rag for oils. Followed by interior cleaner on the plastics to give them a shine

because the previous owner likes to look after his car at a guess? lol

Or the previous owner has a nice oil leak on the engine . So cleans the evidence to hide it . After all allot of people dont clean the exterior or interior of their car. Why clean then engine bay that no one sees . And if they care about it enough to clean their. They wont want to sell it .

Wow, I guess we are talking about the sort of person that cleans and dusts their house, but leaves the toilet bowl covered in ****, and doesn't bother bleaching it?

But seriously, I would expect to see a car that has clean interior and exterior to have a fairly clean engine bay, but if the car interior and exterior was dirty I wouldn't expect to see a sparkling engine bay.

My previous car had an engine bay so clean you could eat your dinner off it, reason was that I liked to show it off as it was one of the main talking points about the car. I still went and sold this car (albeit wish I hadn't now)

I even clean my current engine bay because I like my cars to look nice and tidy, then again people say I have an unhealthy obsession with car cleaning.

A clean engine bay would never put me off, a messy one would as it goes to show the owner doesn't care about the little things and its those details that do it for myself.

Mine has a nice shiney engine cover but anything under that is natural lol. Never see point in it personally
