Hi guys,

 

I have a tick over issue with my 2007 VRS  :(

the idle speed ranges from 1500 to 1000rpm!

 

I'm not sure what it should be from cold but in the morning it starts and idles at 1500rpm and then when it's warm drops to 1000rpm but doesn't always stay there as it varies from 1000 to 1200rpm!

 

any help would be great! 

Sticking throttle pedal?

If you start it up and it goes straight to 1500 lift the accelerator with your foot gently and it'll drop.

If not could be a faulty throttle sensor?

Throttle pedal unit. It's a 'fly by wire' throttle and the potentiometer goes noisy, common fault, I have had two fitted to my 07 plate VRS SE
