i believe the sensor is in the windscreen as they as if you have auto headlights or not when the windscreen is changed

As Ryan says, it is built into the windscreen so would need a new windscreen too. I think Eddie N-L has retrofitted it. Look up his project thread as he's got mote retrofits than I can think of.

Cheers Keechy.

This light switch isn't the same as yours...it will work but i will not fit. The plastic around the switch is different.

And also one thing, front fog light on yours have lamp on the switch and thin one have on the dashboard.

I retro fitted front fog lights to my pre fl ambient. I needed a new switch with the front fog light switch position. I bought one of these very similar switches from a seller on Amazon.

A straight swap and works perfectly.

However, the switch fits but the skoda switch is a little off centre so there is a couple more millimetres gap between it and the dash at the top.

The new switch was intended for an Audi so the ambient light on the symbols is red not green. It doesn't bother me and coist 15 quid rather than god knows what for OEM.

The switch is AUTO which is different from automatic "tunnel" lights which need a sensor to come on when it's dark. Auto on this switch means it lights the Headlamps when you switch the ignition on (basically the old Nordic running lights).

What's going on is that this switch has 2 extra pins on the back. One supplies 12v for front fogs, the other connects to the wire in the socket in the loom to provide for the extra position on the switch for auto lights.

The switch the OP is interested in will fit, will work and don't need coding. Mine doesn't throw a fault.

If you need front fogs, then a 0.1" pin supplies 12 volts that i used to trip a standard relay.
