Fabia vRS Tyre Wear Rates

Featured Replies

Doing way more miles now and car regularly getting pushed. I'm changing tyres today but noticed both fronts are wearing slightly more on the insides. Normal?

Mine are wearing more on the inside also. Not sure why, could just be the standard geometry??

I do mainly motorway work and like you I am now doing more miles than before, so this could be related?

After taking mine in for its first service the front tyres were one thing they recommended I kept an eye on. After 10k miles the rears were 7mm, fronts 4mm with more wear to the edges.

I have recently had the tracking checked so it must just be the cars geometry as mentioned above.

With a front wheel drive car the tyres would generally wear more on the outside.

If the geometry was deliberately incorrectly set by adjustment then I would suppose this wear could be compensated?

It would be too late for the tyres now fitted as uneven tyre wear has already taken place.

My old Fabia VRS MK1 wears tyres pretty even throughout with front tyres needing replacing every 15-16,000 miles with the rears lasting 40,000 miles to 3mm and walls start to perish.

Normal

I was recently told this was normal and that the tyres were actually manufactured with less tread on the inner edges due to it wearing at a slower rate in this area
