My BlueTooth's been stolen!

Featured Replies

Please help!!!

I have a 2011 Octavia estate SE Plus. A couple of months ago, the radio unit broke. Once repaired, the replacement part was not BlueTooth compatible. The technician at the Skoda garage told me that the computer says that an SE Plus does not come with BlueTooth and he checked under my driver's seat for a 'box'(?) which is the BlueTooth controlling unit. As the 'box' was not there and the computer says no, Skoda are sticking to the fact that my car has never had BlueTooth and therefore never should...

Does anyone have an SE Plus from around 2011 with/without BlueTooth?

What can I do to get my BlueTooth back???

Thank you!!

lol, thats a strange one! check the plate in the boots for the build codes. will be under the carpet somewhere, those codes will tell you what was fitted to your car when it was built.

If I understand you correctly, you were previously able to connect you mobile 'phone to your cars Bluetooth system? If so, then your 'phone should still show that 'pairing' under the Bluetooth devices setting!

Show that to the garage and ask them to explain how you could have done that without a Bluetooth unit!!

Thank you howley87... I did not know this existed, I will be checking that later...

I have shown the car dealer that my phone was paired to Skoda_BT, but they're having non of it!!

To add to this saga, the dealer has an SE Plus 61 plate on their forecourt for sale (2nd hand). I've checked, and it has BlueTooth and they have run it through the system and said that if they replaced the radio unit the replacement radio would be the same as mine (without BlueTooth)... How do they explain this? Computer says no...

If you had an Amundsen+ headunit replaced for another, then the chances are that the one removed was a newer one with built-in Bluetooth, and the replacement is an older refurbished unit that did not have it.

If you had a VCDS scan of now and before the change, the part numbers should reveal all.

Thank you... It looks like I have a busy weekend ahead of me checking codes! I should bill the dealer for my time ;-)

I know the bluetooth unit is in the Amundsen unit , looks like the unit you had fitted didn't have it

Not quite sure how BT was facilitated on the SE Plus but was definitely standard spec.

Highly likely they used a variant of the Amundsen head unit (maybe Amundsen +?) that had the BT module built in, hence why there is no module under the seats. Expect the part no fitted doesnt exactly match the original.

I know there were a couple of different variants of the Amundsen + for instance, the one fitted to Octavia Blacklines that had DAB (one of the key selling points of that model) but as a side effect also had BT built in. Just needed coding and mic installing. The other was just a basic unit without either much to Fabia ownerd dismay!

If it's any help my 61 plate SE+ had both bluetooth and the MFSW. It was 1st registered in Sepember of that year, so unless you have an earlier model the techy is having you on.

My November registered 61 plate se+ has amundsen, Bluetooth, mfsw and maxidot. It has been excellent and pairs as skoda_bt

On the Amundsen + in my Blackline came as default no BT, I had to turn it on with VCDS which gave me BT streaming and phone compatibility.

I could see a similar thing happening to me as technically the Blackline came with no BT enabled.
