anyone know the gearbox code plz

Gearbox code is on a label under the boot carpet and on a copy of that label in your service book. Here's a pic of my label. My gearbox code in this case is FNK.

 

HDS is the code of the revised gearbox from 2004 onwards

The original early vrs's on 53 plates had a longer box but this was changed in 04 to the HDS gearbox

FSM is the longer gear ratio box.

mines a 53 reg but early 04. what box will I have?

The only way to tell is to look at the sticker.

For my 2007 Fabia vRS the gearbox code is JNC.

aint got a boot as the box I got is out of a 2002 golf gt tdi

The transmission code will likely be stamped somewhere on the gearbox casing.
