My Facelift vRS slow build....

Featured Replies

Thought I'd start a little thread on my car, not done a whole lot to it yet as money has been tight but will slowly get it how I want it.

Its a 2010 vRS CR170 in Race blue.

When I bought it.

Not much has changed other than a wheel refurb and front mudflaps, Polo aerial.

Next on the list is to get it lowered as it sits far too high lol and a lick of paint on the calipers.

  • Had a quick looks like the badge I ordered had different numbers on the end so I've re-ordered another one from the link that was kindly posted.   Another quick pic to show the colour coded grille.

  • Thought I'd post up pics of my new wheels, just got to get my pennies together for some tyres then I can sell on my old wheels.

  • Rebuilt my grille this evening....     As it was still daylight outside thought I'd swap them over, excuse the state of my car though lol       Also had my rear badge turn up but its too

Slowly getting there. I bought myself a brand new grille to take apart so I can get it colour coded and also bought a brand new badge to suit.

Managed to separate it without any damage so just got to send it off to be painted.

I should also have my lowering springs turn up this week so won't be long till its lowered finally.

Looking good. I've just bought myself a '60' plate vRS (TDi) as well. Was thinking of a smoked chrome for the wheels (my car's Corrida Red). Your photos have just confirmed that the standard alloys (Neptunes?) do look good darker. Looking good. I'm also thinking of a colour coded grille. Subscribed. :-)

Really tidy that mate. I wanted a Race Blue but settled for red but a fairly high spec.

Any loss of signal with the shorter aerial, is it the 6r Polo one?

I've had no issues with the radio signal, always works perfectly with the shorter aerial.

Spot on mate cheers. Another one on the list then. Look forward to seeing the springs go on too.

Getting there with this, the grille surround is being painted by one of my customers as a favor so should have it back mid week all being well, just ordered up the new style rear badge too. Will order up some new style vRS badges soon to complete the look but will have everything else fitted next weekend.

Springs wise they have turned up at work so just need to organize getting them fitted along with a service and that should make a huge difference to how it looks all being well :D

Certainly should. Think the only disappointing thing is the ride height as standard. Mind you it gives us something to do/spend on :D

One advantage of working in the trade is the price I pay for some decent springs :D

Which drop are they?

My system at work say 35mm but the box says 40-45mm.

Look forward to seeing fitted pics, I'm looking at h&r but not sure if the drop will be enough to eliminate all arch gap

Also had my rear badge turn up but its too big for the hole so not sure what to do with it at the moment.

Looks good like the coded grille

Colour coded grille surround looks smart.

Ref the rear badge I had the same. Just used an extra layer of double sided foam to fill the void :D would prefer a slightly smaller badge to sit in the recess but it looks fine as it is.

Yea that's what I'm gonna do I think saves wasting the badge I've bought then :)
