Help please with front lighting problems.

Featured Replies

Hi,

OH's fabia (2003 SDI estate) has developed a lighting fault and just wondered if anyone could shed any light (groan) on the problem.

If she switches the sidelights on she gets nothing, then to dipped beam position she gets side lights. If she uses the stalk to turn on the full beam or uses the pull to flash facility the headlights come on but no full beam (although the blue light on the dash says the beams are on).

I wont see the car till the end of the week but she says it must be switching the headlights on not the full beams as she's not been flashed by any other vehicles in two nights of using it with the fullbeams 'on'

Any clues?

Electrics are a total nightmare unless you know what you doing and have the necessary equipment.

Suggest get the garage to check-it out, saves time and frustration in the long run.

I recently had a dash light fault relating to the engine the garage found wiring splitting away from a connecter.

Fixed it in an hour, cost £35 for fault VCD + £40 labour.

I would never have found the problem deep inside the engine bay.
