Just had a look on the Skoda website and the Tech now starts at £15,295!! Available it seems on 0% finance.

Quite a price jump. Makes the £11,800 I paid for mine an even bigger bargain.

Skoda must be having a laugh! I paid £11500 with 3 years free servicing and they still gave me a lower than advertised finance rate.

Ain't going to be many Black Magic Techs leaving the factory me thinks, unless it's all BLACK MAGIC !!!!!!!

Crikey. £11,800 for a monte tech. Thats good. Im impressed.

My SE 1.2 12v was a few hundred more than that a year ago (wasnt after a monte mind. And a cash buy so no deals on finance)

Looks like they are charging you for the Sat Nav and Bluetooth on top of the standard Monte Carlo price but not charging you

the extra £495 for the Black Magic paint makes the previous price of £11,990 OTR a real steal now!

Techs weren't in the VAT free offer, it was a straight £11990 for a 1.2 TSI hatch and £12900 for the 1.6 CR with 3 years free servicing when I got mine.

Last year when they were selling or taking very few orders for Montes they introduced the Techs at amazing value and sold them.

Then some Black Editions, then Tech Estates, and these sold well.

 

The Advertised price now seem OTT really.

But if people want them and pay the price, dealers will not need to discount very much.

True, got the free servicing and a cheaper rate for the finance than what was being advertised.

All part of the run up to the new Fabia launch I suspect.

 

They will discourage new custom factory orders as all Fabia Mk2 production will stop sometime ~ June/July. Stock orders will be discounted down to previous prices. Skoda UK will ramp up "specials" to empty out inventory. The new elevated prices are a ploy to introduce the new Fabia mk3 "with no or minimal price increase".

At the price they're quoting now I'd rather have a Polo R Line, you're nearly into the new Leon territory as well which I'd rather have over either.

It does start to make the Tech a bit of a bargain when you look at the deal they had when they first brought them out though which is why I bought one in the first place.

You can get an Ibiza 5 door FR for just over £12000 so how Skoda expect to keep shifting them is a puzzle.

Surely this is just what the supermarkets do - putting tubes of Pringles up to £2.50 for a few weeks so they can then advertise an amazing sale when they are reduced again.

 

Either the dealers will carry on selling them at roughly the same price with huge customer discounts offered, or there's another factory lead offer coming up where the price will be dropped.

That will kill their sales, you'd get a 12 month vw golf for that

I heard this when I picked mine up just over a week ago, however I was told about 17k! Weird!

I feel even worse Got mine for £10995 free service 3 years  free mats tank of fuel and 1lt oil in a bag (was first to order at the dealers on the day it was announced and if i signed there and then so i did )

Unfortunately I haven't got the bike anymore so getting a free one would've been handy.
