Simple Question ?

Featured Replies

Does my aerial unscrew from the shark fin, have tried does not seen to move, would like to remove as I need to use a cover when in Spain with my caravan to protect from tree sap. Looking forward to the drive down to Costa del Sol , going to leave van in Spain , great drive then with out van never a hold up on main routes.

Presume you have this type:

It it's anything like the aerial I had on my Octavia then it does screw - you just need to give it a really good pull, it will come off eventually.

If it's that type, be carefull when you try to pull it free, it needs some force...don't put your other hand on the roof because you might end up denting it, yes I've seen it happen and no it wasn't me :giggle:

Enjoy Spain!

Thanks for you two who took the trouble to answer , easier thing to do is cut a hole in the cheap cover.

If you just want to put a cover over it, it isn't necessary to completely remove the aerial.

Just unscrew it and it will become loose, allowing it to fold down against the rear screen, and you can just pop the cover over it.

The aerial only needs to be removed completely to use a car wash etc.

Popped into dealer my aerial simply unscrews from shark fin needed grips to get it moving Noticed that newer models have a shark fin with no aerial .
