Idle issue after a little blast

Featured Replies

Just gave the VRS a bit of a blast on the way home this evening, not absolutely hammering it and was for about 4 to 5 mins on a country road. When got home a few mins later and parked up let the car run for a min just idle but every 15 seconds the idle kept dropping really low as if was going cut out and then back up again to about 800-900rpm. Any ideas?

is your engine mamagement light on? if not it might just be overheating after a wee blast?

i notice a big cut in power when the engine gets hot! just a thought mate.

check ya breather hoses the y piece and lower one that goes under intake

Yeah the engine management light has come on, its coming up with the running rich fault code when i plugged in yesterday.

Will have a look at hoses. Thinking of upgrading to some silicone ones.

yeah check the hoses. there are one or 2 under the inlet manifold which are prone to crumble upon themselves (i haven't had this problem yet. also the Y piece on right of the engine, sometimes splits due to heat!

i'm thinking of upgrading to silicone pipes soon myself! so will find out then if there are any week points!
