Skoda Badge Removal

Featured Replies

As my new badges are on there way courtesy of PastyBoy, whats the easiest and cleanest way to remove the rear 'Skoda' badge and also 'Fabia' lettering ?

Angle grinder.

Or if you do a quick search you should find lots of instructions.

Suitable search terms might be "hairdrier" and "floss"

Actually, just "floss" will do it as there are a lot of spelling variations on hair drier/hair dryer/heirdriyya/etc

Heat up area with heat gun and pry off with dental floss/fishing line

+1

Do heat guns not risk taking the paint off?

A Hairdrier

What's the best product/item to clean off the remaining adhesive residue ?

Tar/Glue remover or IPA...Even petrol or Meths

They will not damage your paint.

When I did mine yesterday, I cleaned it all off with meths, and then gave the car a really good wash.

If your paint has discolored a little with age you might have to t-cut the area to get it to blend in.

Polish. Yes

But T-Cut is very harsh and I would never use that

I'm going to give fishing braid a go

I used petrol to remove the glue left behind and then a wee spot of t cut cos the paint was faded.

I only removed the fabia and vrs from the back.

Well yea, but common sense and all that.

Take care if using one. I used one and my paint is fine.

Hair Dryer to warm the adhesive. Then use fishing line to get it off.

Petrol to clean up the residue left behind. Then I'd give the area a quick polish.

Cheers guys ... I used a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive and then dental floss to get the letters and badge off ... then an old credit card to get the residue off and gave it a wash and a polish after.

Just need to give it a good wash and polish and add my new PastyBoy badges.

Warm-hot water put sponge in water, then hold sponge over the badge 1min or so

Then floss.

Managed to get mine off with next to no residue left

fitted mine today....Looks superb
