vrs mode button shortcut

Featured Replies

Are all the lower buttons such as VRS mode, park assist, stop/start, simply shortcuts to the corresponding Columbus car setting? I would have preferred "one click" activation using the button alone with two modes configurable in the Columbus, so ON=Sport mode and OFF=normal mode for example. If you preferred to have ON=individual or ECO then that would be possible via the Columbus drive settings.

May be I got it wrong but if all the button does is take you into the menu for further selection then the button doesn't really add much value?

May be I'm just being "simply clever-er" and should apply for a design job at Skoda...

Not sure about Columbus but on my car I couldn't see any way to change the mode through the Admundsen.

how does the button work in your case, simply cycling through each mode on each press?

No - The mode button shows or hides the selection screen.

You press the mode button and then you have to select the driving mode you want.  If you select normal the mode button turns green, any other the mode button turns amber.

(On RHD cars there doesn't appear to be a "vRS" button - just mode like other car with the mode selection fitted.)

On the DSG, while driving, you just have to pull back on the gear lever and it goes into Sport mode,...nice,.......

I would prefer just pressing the button as well.

Doesn't that just put the DSG box in sports mode?

Didn't realise it also did the Climate Control, AFS, Steering weight and throttle response as well but stand to be corrected.

Don't you hold the mode button and that'll go straight to vrs mode?

Don't think so - I think I've tried that in the vain hope it did.

I'll try to remember to test it tomorrow...

would Skoda be that clever? Hope so.... Someone pls try and confirm. Make sure you are alone when you do though as it might work the ejector seat.

There's no such thing as 'vRS mode' despite what the motoring press have reported. Only Eco, normal, sport and individual.

Probably not.  I'll try and test tomorrow if I remember...

Will try it on the way to dropping off swmbo - might get her out of the car a bit quicker if it fires the ejector seat, lets just hope Skoda have remembered to wire it for RHD... ;)

Nope. No switch, no ejector. Nothing.

The button just shows or hides the menu on admundsen

This is what the UK brochure shows;

Driving Mode Selection. Standard from SE, Driving Mode Selection allows the driver to adapt the car’s behaviour to their preference or needs. Four driving modes are available, normal, sport, eco and individual (allowing the driver to configure their own settings). The car will then adapt the engine torque, accelerator sensitivity, power steering, headlight control (where AFS is fitted), DSG transmission, and air conditioning to suit the profile selected.

Performance Mode Selection. The Driving Mode Selection has been further enhanced for vRS with the introduction of a Performance Sound Generator. When vRS mode is selected this will also change the car's sound generator levels. It spreads vibrations directly through the vehicle body and windscreen. The frequency and volume is dependent on the mode selected, rotation speed, car speed and accelerator position.

Its actually no different to the version fitted to regular cars; it just has the sound generator as well.

Sport mode is pretty carp IMO, my car certainly drives better in normal, I do however prefer the weight of sport mode steering so have set up individual mode.

That's the same button and function as our cars, just labelled better!

Having it labelled as 'vRS mode' is worse than what we get as it lights up in any mode other than nornal.  So the vRS Mode button will be lit up when it's in Eco which just makes no sense.........
