Featured Replies

As per title I wish to blank it off...

2 blanking plates

1 New EGR Gasket

1 NEW EGR O ring

I got these bits as wanted to clean up but have had change of heart and want to blank

Which two areas do I put the blanking plates? Any pics appreciated

Also what do I do with the EGR cooler thingy?? Where is it located? Is it that vacuum pipe on top?

Yes I have looked in search I am New to this engine so your help n guidance is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Cool so just use m5/m6 bolts to block vacuum hoses?

Also I only have one egr gasket,,. Can I use a coke can or sealant on the other??

Do you have an egr delete or blanking plates? Your first post says you have wtwo blanking plates.

If you only have one, buy the 2nd for the cost, no point half arsing something for the sake of a few quid when you can do it properly.

Also, thought the egr blank didn't throw a light, only the delete did?

Edit- if your egr is staying in place you don't need to plug the vac hoses just reconnect to egr or that will throw the light.

just use the original gasket that is on your egr. Remove the egr pipe from the EGR to the turbo. Leave the gaskets on the turbo + the EGR (or replace 1 with a new gasket as yiu only have 1).. then put the blanks on top + put the nuts/ bolts on.

simples ;)

Cheers guys

I have just bought the other gasket now, so 2xblanks and 2xgaskets.... will get on the case

Thought id get it all once a precaution as I hate having to do the same job twice lol

Sorry didn't read that properly, though you meant you only had the one blanking plate.

Cool mate :)

Silly question but what's point of a complete egr delete when you can blank????

Good, question. To be honest i don't know......its cheaper than replacing the whole EGR if that fails, you get rid of one of those crappy coupler connections and i suppose you also could argue better airflow as the valve inside it isn't operating/there.

However, other than that its a question for better people than me, which doesn't take that much...

thats pretty much it anyway lol ^^ :D

it makes it easier to pipe up a fmic without the clip in pipe.. looks better.. some have a nipple for a boost gauge.. saves you having to clean all the crud out of the EGR valve which restricts airflow..

not much else tbh..
