Thanks Dan :)

Potatoes are cool

It is great for numpties like me though.

The pictures REALLY help.

I'm not planning an EGR delete but do want to check and clean SWMBO's and your guide is spot on for me.

Looks like I've got (another) job at the weekend...

Thank you for taking the time.

The most informative guide I have read on installing this, great job

Great guide. Thank you Dan.

Brilliant write up, this helps a lot. I will be cleaning my egr valve soon, so this is a big help.

Thanks for the time & effort.

Cheers, Dan, will be using this when I change my egr!

Spot on guide Dan B)

Will be doing mine later in the week so the pics have helped alot cheers :)

When I did mine I took the 3 bolts out on the EGR (the bottom one is a PITA).

Then took the pipe between the airbox and inlet off and undid the two nuts on the manifold connecting the gold pipe to it.

You can wiggle the whole lot out then without struggling to remove it at the egr end.

Great guide, for the love of god someone apply glue and stick it to the forehead of the next retard to ask how you do this.

Pinned to the top!

Many thanks Dan - a true gent to his word!

I didn't think this would get such a good response!

Glad it's helped some of you and hopefully others in the future :)

Excellent DN, as mentioned in a previous thread it is great to have a blow-by-blow account with images for people like me.

Btw KBPhoto, are you married to my wife! I've been referring to her as SWMBO forever and can't remember her mentioning you!

Good write up Dan, thanks

Fitted mine yesterday :)

One thing you missed out in your guide, the most important tool, you need girl hands!!!

:giggle:

Haha so true

Good guide, did you leave your egr bolts only finger tight?

Had to whack mine up tight due to boost leak from the gasket!

  • Author

Damn I should have added to that! I meant do them up finger tight initially to make sure it's on the inlet evenly then do them up tight!

Haha that'll keep you on your toes, forgot to

Mention though I ended up doing mine up too tight which split and pushed out the rubber gasket!

Instant gasket to the rescue!

Roughly how long should I allow for this Dann? Doing my mates on Friday as a test run before doing my own :D

  • Author

As a first attempt probably around an hour or something like that mate?

Cool cool

Great guide mate! Will be following this when I come to do mine

  • 3 weeks later...

Which engine do you have fella? I have the Asz and allard delete but the EML came on, I didn't block the pipes. Could that be the reason?
